Astrid Dispert wins ‘Lloyd’s Register Outstanding Contribution to Ship Efficiency’ Award

We are pleased to announce that Astrid Dispert, Technical Adviser to the GloMEEP Project, has received the ‘Lloyd’s Register Outstanding Contribution to Ship Efficiency’ Award!

As part of the Ship Efficiency Awards 2016, the award celebrates an individual, company or association which has made an outstanding contribution to improving the energy efficiency or environmental impact of the maritime industry through research or training and education. Nominees for the award were put forward by a judging panel of independent experts, and with the award decided by a public vote. The other nominees included Mr. Jan Fransen, CEO of the Green Award Foundation, and WWL (Wallenius Wilhelmson Logistics).

Speaking at the awards ceremony organized by Fathom Maritime Intelligence in London, Ms. Dispert raised the importance of promoting a global energy-efficiency culture, which should “lie at the heart of a sustainable maritime transportation system”. Ms. Dispert thanked all those involved in the project and emphasized that “a lot of excellent work has been done in the respective countries in a very short period of time. And it is encouraging to witness with how much dedication and energy these countries have embraced this project.”
