Workshop on IMO Model Course 4.05 on Energy Efficient Operation of Ships completed in Malaysia
A national workshop on the implementation of IMO Model Course 4.05 on Energy Efficient Operation of Ships has been held in Kuala Lumpur from 20 to 21 February 2017, which aims to capacitate maritime training institutes to deliver IMO’s Model Course 4.05 to seafarers.
The workshop covers in detail various methods for improving energy efficiency of ships including optimized ship handling, fuel and energy management, and shipboard system planning. Hosted by the Marine Department Malaysia and the Maritime Institute of Malaysia, the workshop also featured presentations on Malaysia’s perspective on maritime energy efficiency education, and the industry perspective on implementing ship energy efficiency measures.
Participants from various maritime universities, shipping colleges and institutes are attending from across the country.
