Training on assessing port emissions in India

The GloMEEP Project continues its roll-out of a new training package on addressing port emissions with a national workshop currently taking place in Mumbai, India (15-17 May). Port personnel from across the country have convened to attend this IMO-IAPH training, aimed at supporting ports to undertake the development of emissions inventories, with a view to better understanding emissions sources in their ports as well as developing appropriate strategies to address them.

The three-day workshop, hosted by the Indian Directorate General of Shipping and the Indian Register of Shipping, has been developed based on two draft guides namely, Guide for a Port Emissions Status Assessment and Guide for the Development of a Port Emissions Reduction Strategy, which will be published later this year.
