MARPOL Annex VI workshop held in Argentina
A national workshop on MARPOL Annex VI and Technology Transfer is currently being implemented by IMO and a team of consultants in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to raise awareness of IMO’s regulatory regime with regard to improving energy efficiency and the control of GHG emissions from ships.
Twenty participants from various Government ministries, maritime training institutes and the maritime administration have gathered for the three day workshop taking place from 8 to 10 November 2016. The workshop follows a recent meeting of national stakeholders of maritime energy efficiency and those who will be involved in the GloMEEP Project in Argentina.
The implementation of this workshop will complete the first set of workshops held nationally across the Project’s Lead Pilot Countries, providing an overview of MARPOL Annex VI and GHG emissions, as well as IMO regulations including Attained EEDI, Required EEDI and SEEMP.
